Denise Santos Ford is the founder and director of SPEECH, Marin. Her career in speech - language pathology began in high school when she worked as a peer mentor in a socialization program for developmentally disordered adolescents. She attended Texas Christian University and received her B.S. in Habilitation of the Deaf. Denise then taught pre - school, kindergarten and elementary school grades as a teacher of the deaf. She then attended the University of the Pacific, receiving her masters in speech and language pathology. Denise has a strong background in working with apraxia, dyslexia, autism spectrum disorders, hearing impairments and language disorders. She is skilled in management and execution of social pragmatic language groups as well. In 2015, Denise was trained by Apraxia Kids (formerly known as CASANA) and is now recognized for advanced training and clinical expertise in the treatment of childhood apraxia of speech. She is skilled in treatment of pediatric feeding.
